Toronto, ON (August 4, 2021) – MDM Recordings Inc. (MDM) is thrilled to announce the latest addition to their award-winning roster with the signing of Quebec country duo Five Roses. The duo, consisting of Jade Godin and Zach Ouimet was born out of circumstance after a chance encounter at the barbershop where Godin worked. Finding easy musical chemistry after a jam session together, the pair began writing and officially formed Five Roses. On August 27th, Five Roses will mark their label debut with the release of ‘Might As Well Be Me’, produced by Danick Dupelle (Emerson Drive, Matt Lang, Tyler Joe Miller) and written by Benjy Davis, Shay Mooney and Daniel Ross.
In addition to the label signing, Five Roses will be co-managed by MDM’s Mike Denney and Muse Creative Management’s Casadie Pederson. Of the signing says Denney, “I’m thrilled to welcome Five Roses to our ever-growing roster. Jade and Zach are a breath of fresh air in the Canadian country music scene, and the combination of their vocals and vibe they bring to their songs is unmatched. Quebec is also a unique and growing market for country music in Canada, and we are looking forward to breaking some new ground with our team in the province.“
”We are beyond excited about joining the MDM roster and are so grateful for their belief in us as artists,” says Five Roses. “We couldn’t have asked for a better label and team to call home. We have felt such a warm welcome and already feel like part of the MDM family! We can’t wait for everyone to hear this new music and are so excited to see what the future holds!’’
Inspired by acts like Lady A and Little Big Town, Five Roses independently released their debut EP in 2018, and have spent the past few years performing across the country. The duo has shared the stage with fellow Canadian country artists such as Brett Kissel, Meghan Patrick and The Reklaws, making appearances during Canadian Music Week, country music week at the CCMA’s and more. As they make their MDM debut with ‘Might As Well Be Me’, Five Roses continue to work on new material with Dupelle, delivering a fresh, modern sound to the Canadian country music scene.
