MILLER THE FIRST INDEPENDENT CANADIAN COUNTRY ARTIST IN BDS/MEDIABASE HISTORY TO HAVE THEIR DEBUT SINGLE GO TO #1

Toronto, ON (May 13, 2020) – Today, Tyler Joe Miller’s debut single “Pillow Talkin’” lands in the number one spot at Canadian country radio, making him the first independent Canadian country artist in BDS/Mediabase history to have their debut track hit the top of the charts. “Pillow Talkin’”, released in late December 2019, quickly earned Miller the title of iHeartRadio Future Star for January, and to date has garnered over 3 million cumulative streams.

Signing with MDM Recordings Inc. in early 2019, Miller went on to take home the “Ray McAuley Horizon” Award at the 2019 BCCMA Awards, presented to an emerging artist who has shown achievements in recorded and or live performances and celebrates their contributions to country music in British Columbia. Born in Surrey, Miller was raised on country music, listening to his favourite artists on summer drives to his cabin in the caribou in northern BC. He first played in a band in his early 20s, drawing inspiration from artists like Brad Paisley, Garth Brooks, George Strait, Alan Jackson, and Kenny Rogers, performing in bars in downtown Vancouver before opting to take a break from music, in pursuit of other adventures.
With a desire to fuse his love of music with his passion for philanthropy, Miller began doing humanitarian work, primarily in Guatemala. From this, he started his own non-profit organization called The Climb Outreach Society, who believe in the value of every person and in promoting a higher quality of life for those in need.
