Today, Saskatchewan-born, award-winning country artist Josh Stumpf released his new single “Leftover Whiskey” via MDM Recordings Inc. and distributed by Warner Music Canada / ADA Canada. Produced by Dave Thomson, the song was recorded during the SiriusXM Top of the Country competition, where Stumpf placed in the Top 8. The song follows Stumpf’s Top 20 hit “Johnnie Walker (Back To Me)” which has gained over 847k streams.
Stumpf is coming off of his first busy CCMA Country Music Week. He performed at a Ford Truck media event, CCMA House, the Paquin Presents: The Other Side of Country event, the Fender showcase, and as part of the Dolly Parton tribute on the CCMA Awards broadcast. He also presented an award during the broadcast. Stumpf appeared on CTV National News and CBC Saskatchewan’s Blue Sky program.

Of the song, Stumpf says, “’Leftover Whiskey’ is my attempt at expressing the anger, sadness, and confusion of coming home to find your significant other gone as if in a hurry and leaving all the things you thought were important to them behind. It’s a song about uncertainty and despair and the feeling of wondering whether or not they’re ever coming back, questioning if you mean as little to them as the rest of the items left behind.”
