Toronto, ON (March 13, 2020) – Today marks a new chapter for Canadian country artist David James as he delivers his new EP “If I Were You”, available today via MDM Recordings Inc./Universal Music Canada. Last week, James released the title-track single, written by Bart Butler, Corey Crowder, Michael Wilson Hardy and Tyler Hubbard, which follows previous tracks “Cars, Girls and the Radio” and “All The Time”, which 2019 became James’ fastest rising song at radio to date, boasting over 1.3 million collective streams and climbing.

In celebration of the release of “If I Were You”, produced by Dan Swinimer, James is set to take over Winnipeg’s Nashville’s for a hometown EP release show on March 27th, as well as Toronto’s Rock ‘N’ Horse Saloon on April 4th. Additionally, James celebrates a new partnership with Crafty Cocktails; the two will collaborate to release a limited edition, co-branded cocktail box based off his favourite cocktails.
Since bursting onto the Canadian country music scene following his 2014 signing with MDM Recordings Inc., James has celebrated multiple career milestones including the release of his debut EP “Songs About A Girl” and two subsequent CCMA Award nominations, a debut performance at the highly-celebrated Boots and Hearts Music Festival and a Canadian Radio Music Award nomination for “Best New Group or Solo Artist: Country”. The companion video for “All The Time” debuted on CMT as part of “Next Up Now” – a program created to highlights songs and videos of up-and-coming stars in country music and in 2019 James was named “Male Artist of the Year” at the Manitoba Country Music Association Awards and spent time on the road as the featured guest on Aaron Pritchett’s “Out On The Town” tour which stopped in over 50 cities across Canada.
